This course provides the participants with an overview of the modular installer profession. Discussion topics will include the history of the trade, apprenticeship laws, hiring hall practices and the duties and responsibilities of apprentices. The workplace environment, basic safety training, proper use of equipment used in the modular industry will be covered. Successful students will receive OSHA 10, Fall Protection and Forklift Operator qualification cards.
This course provides basic modular construction and quality, and installation related training. Safety training will included for the proper use of equipment, hand and power tools. Additionally, math and measuring tools, the architects scale and distribution practices used in the modular industry will be covered. Successful students will receive an ACR CPR, First Aid and AED qualification card.
This course provides the participants with the method, procedures and practices used in the layout, placement and adjustment of modular components. The techniques used to adjust hardware for fit and alignment of drawers and doors is included. A focus will be placed on UL listed electrical components. The course’s emphasis is on quality, safety and productivity.
This course introduces the students to modular furnishing design concepts. Students will identify the elements that are incorporated into the design for functionality, productivity and durability. Basic modular educational layouts, components, specialty accessories and finishes will be included. Drawing interpretation, layout and quality installation techniques will be highlighted.
This course enhances the student’s recognition of educational installations by adding seismic considerations to modular furnishing design concepts. Students will identify the elements that are incorporated into the design for functionality, productivity, durability and seismic safety. Steelcase modular educational layouts, components, specialty accessories and finishes will be included. Drawing interpretation, layout and quality installation techniques with a focus on seismic hazard abatement will be covered.

Students will identify the elements that are incorporated into the medical workplace for functionality, productivity and durability. Herman Miller furnishing layouts, components, specialty accessories and finishes will be included.

A detailed look at print reading and service order interpretation skills needed for job planning, problem solving and project completion tasks will be emphasized.

This course covers the supervisory and leadership skills required for professional development. Typical work processes, communication methods, motivational concepts and problem solving techniques, that when employed, produce efficient and effective management of modular installation projects will be included in the training.
