Restoration Techniques for Finished Terrazzo Floors
This course covers basic workplace safety training and provides an introduction to the Terrazzo jobsite environment. Math applications, as well as tools and equipment used in the industry will be discussed. Successful students will receive OSHA 10, ACR CPR, First Aid and Forklift Operator qualification cards.
Scaffold erection, aerial lift equipment, and first aid and CPR techniques are the major focus of this training. Safety discussions will cover hazard recognition and prevention methods. In addition to CPR practice, task assignments utilize inspection, scaffold assembly-disassembly, and aerial lift safe operating procedures. Students that successfully complete training will receive scaffold-aerial lift qualification and ARC certification cards.
This course is designed to strengthen English comprehension and speaking abilities. This skill is essential to understanding the information and instructions typically communicated between workers and supervisors on worksites, and for interaction in Apprenticeship Training Programs. Coursework will focus on interpreting and using the basic terminology, words and construction phrases necessary for safe job performance.
This course will provide participants with pre-job planning and preparation techniques for terrazzo finishing. Students will identify the elements that are incorporated into the terrazzo finish workplace for functionality, productivity and durability. A detailed look at printreading and service order interpretation skills needed for job planning, problem solving and project completion tasks will be emphasized.
This course will cover the handling techniques and procedures associated with terrazzo hazardous material. The terminology and components unique to hazardous material will be discussed. This course will focus on preparing the student to recognize hazardous material and determine if safety procedures are adequate in the work setting.
This course familiarizes the student with terrazzo base types and required preparation for specific bases. Methods, procedures and practices used in the layout, placement and alignment of each base will be included. The courses emphasis is on quality finish techniques for terrazzo bases.

This course provides the participants with the method, procedures and practices used in layout and placement of cementacious terrazzo installations. The techniques used for mixing and pouring cementacious terrazzo are included. Students will identify the elements that are incorporated into a cementacious terrazzo application as well as its functionality and durability. The course’s emphasis is on quality, safety, and productivity.
This course provides the participants with the method, procedures and practices used while installing epoxy terrazzo flooring. Students will identify as well as demonstrate the use of components, specialty accessories and layout pattern designs for different types of epoxy floors. Polyacrylate terrazzo walls will include a focus on the methods, procedures and practices of a polyacrylate wall installation. Students will identify polyacrylate wall layouts, components and specialty accessories. A detailed look at printreading, tools and techniques used to install, level and align polyacrylate walls will be covered. Students will be introduced to design layout concepts as well as quality installation techniques.

The tools and techniques used to install, level and align these components will be covered. The courses emphasis is on quality installation techniques for terrazzo steps & bases.
Repair and maintenance for terrazzo floors and walls will be the focus for this course. A detailed look at common problem solving techniques will be emphasized. Students will identify the elements that are incorporated into repair, maintenance and securing durability of terrazzo. An overview of installation techniques, components and finishes for all types of terrazzo will be included.
This course provides an introduction to the theory and practice of terrazzo finishing. Students will be provided with the basic method, procedures and practices used in the layout placement, alignment and adjustment of terrazzo finishing components. The tools and techniques used to install, level and align these components will be included.
This course will cover the finishing techniques and procedures associated with synthetic and chemical applications. Terminology and product characteristics will be discussed. Students will complete product application and analysis tasks using the floor cleaning, stripping and sealing procedures presented.
This course provides students with the methods, procedures and practices for finishing floor and wall installations to print specifications. A detailed look at abrasives materials, types, grit sizes, grinding and honing techniques will be included. An emphasis will be placed on achieving the desired gloss or sheen.
This course provides the participants with the method, procedures and practices used while installing stair and ramp finishes. Students will identify and demonstrate the use of components, specialty accessories and layout pattern designs for stair and ramp finishes. A detailed look at printreading, tools and techniques used to install, level and align stair and ramp finish installations will be included. The course’s emphasis is on techniques specific for finish stair and ramp installation.
Restoration techniques for finished terrazzo floors will be the focus of this course. A detailed look at common problem solving techniques will be emphasized. Students will identify the elements that are incorporated into resurfacing, repairing and securing durability of terrazzo. An overview of installation techniques, components and finishes for all types of terrazzo will be included.
